It is not uncommon to feel unsure or hesitant about seeking help. The initial meeting is an opportunity for us to meet each other, discuss your needs and explore whether therapy might be helpful to you. There is no commitment to ongoing work at this stage.
This work is most effective when client and therapist have a good relationship. If we are not a good fit, I can recommend other therapists for you to try.
If you decide you would like to continue, we would then agree upon a regular day and time to meet each week on an ongoing basis. The establishment of regular sessions is an important element of psychotherapy, as the regularity and structure provides a continuity and holding while exploring more difficult emotions and issues.
